Patient Resources

You are not fighting alone. There are many organizations in our community who support and care about you, no matter where you may find yourself on your cancer journey.

CBCC partners with numerous non-profit organizations that help bring resources to our patients and all of those impacted by cancer in Kern County.


The Kern County Cancer Foundation is dedicated to assisting under-insured or uninsured local cancer patients pay for treatment. They provide funding for patients in Kern County through a collaborative partnership with local healthcare providers and generous supporters. As well as providing their Mobile Angel Unit which exists to help our youngest patients get to and from needed out-of-area appointments. Since 2013, more than 750 patients have been assisted with the fund, and approximately $3.5 million dollars has been allocated.


The American Cancer Society offers programs and services to help you during and after cancer treatment. Such as 24/7 cancer helpline, lodging during treatment, rides to treatment, and more. Visit the website for a list of services in our area.

Health & Wellness Café

The Health & Wellness Café was created to give our community a truly healthy and wholesome restaurant choice.

Everything we do at the Health & Wellness Café supports your good health. We promise that every time you visit us you will find scrumptious recipes made with fresh organic ingredients and healthy non-inflammatory oils. Our daily offerings include vegan and vegetarian choices, sustainable seafood programs, our poultry is free of hormones and antibiotics, and we never serve red meat.

We understand the importance and impact of good nutrition on the mind, body, and spirit. We love this community, so we are committed to the health of the people who live here.


Links for Life was started in 1992 by Sharyn Woods and Carol Barraza to promote breast cancer awareness and provide services for women coping with cancer. Links for Life believes everyone fighting breast cancer is a Survivor. They exist to improve breast health outcomes in Kern County, educate and empower its neighbors to take ownership of their breast health and provide care and support to people affected by breast cancer. Any woman experiencing hair loss due to cancer treatment can use the Links for Life Wig Boutique. Currently, their boutique has resources to provide 1-2 wigs per year per person. Hoffmann Hospice is one of the oldest, most trusted, and respected hospice agency in Kern County. Hoffmann Hospice offers the highest quality end-of-life care to hundreds of terminally ill patients every year. The agency strives for continued excellence in medical, bereavement and spiritual care, earning its accreditation through the Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP), the highest accreditation in the healthcare community. Hoffmann Hospice Grief Support groups are led by trained grief counselors. The meetings are free and open to all. You need not have had a loved one on our service to attend. All Grief Support Groups are held at The Hoffmann Hospice Grief Support Center at 4325 Buena Vista Bldg. B. Bakersfield, CA 93311. Space is limited, reservations are required.
