Her medical connections led her to CBCC where she met with Dr. Patel and other staff. They all agreed to start treatment quickly to shrink the tumor and avoid surgery.
Getting Through Treatment
Diane’s cancer was aggressive. She had a full 18 months of active treatment consisting of 16 rounds of chemotherapy, 35 rounds of radiation, and immunotherapy broken up every three weeks.
The intense combination made it challenging for her to both be a mom and go to work. “My story is different that I didn’t have down days. But that made me stronger because I had to go home and get myself up everyday and get it together.”
Getting Back to Life
Heavy into Peloton biking, Diane worked hard to get to a 13% body fat before her cancer diagnosis. For obvious reasons, she had to put her training on hold in the time of therapy.
Excited to get back to it, she joined a Peloton comeback program upon completion of her treatment. Victorious as she is, she won a bike, a 3-year subscription, and workout gear.
“I owe it all to CBCC. To all the staff, thank you for taking care of me.”
