Infectious Disease

The infectious diseases service at CBCC focuses on the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases that can occur in people undergoing treatment for cancer.

Some cancer treatments can diminish the body’s natural ability to fight infections and fend off other illnesses. That’s why our comprehensive, team approach includes internal medicine physicians with clinical expertise in the use of antibiotics to control infections and illness in patients undergoing cancer treatment.

While infectious diseases are a potential problem for all patients, one of the most concerning populations at risk remains patients with compromised immunity due to cancer and its treatments.
