Liza Chen earned her Bachelor’s degree right here in Kern County at California State University- Bakersfield. She then went on to receive her physician assistant certification from U.C. Davis. Her specialties include clinical laboratory science and general medicine. She also has experience working in the Emergency Room.
Chen began her medical career in 2005 working in the lab studying and researching. After a while, she discovered that she missed being able to interact with patients. She says her passion and her calling is working directly with the community and helping them to heal. She says though her work in the lab was very important, she found working with patients to be much more rewarding.
Chen is married with two children. When she’s not working she loves being outdoors, playing tennis, snowboarding, wakeboarding fishing and camping.
