Medical Director, Radiation Oncology Board Certified
Dr. Giridhar Gorla is an experienced Board-Certified Radiation Oncologist who completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at the Montefiore Medical Center in New York after graduating from Sri Venkateswara Medical College in India.
During his early years and into the present, he has assisted in a broad spectrum of research. Dr. Gorla has served as an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He is a member of multiple associations such as the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, American Board of Radiology, and American Society of Clinical Oncology, and he is committed to on-going oncology research. Through such commitment, he has been recognized in professional journals and numerous published articles.
Comprehensive Blood & Cancer Center was excited to add Dr. Gorla to their team in 2005 as medical Director of Radiation Oncology. The ACR Accredited Radiation Department has had many firsts including the only Cyberknife Stereotactic Radiosurgery machine in the Central Valley. Dr. Golrla’s passion for cancer research has advanced his knowledge on Gynocological Brachytherapy treatment to better focus on women’s health, and provide quality cancer care for patients in the Kern County Community.
Dr. Gorla specializes in prostate, gynecological, head and neck cancers as well as brachytherapy. He is currently participating in clinical trials in UCLA and sits on the board for the American Cancer Society and the Kern County Cancer Fund.
