David Hsiang, MD
Surgical Oncology
Dr. David Hsiang (pronounced “Shung”) is a board-certified surgeon with a strong background in surgical oncology. He graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Pennsylvania, completed his internship and residency in general surgery at UC Irvine, with additional training at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, one of the nation’s leading cancer institutions.
He has conducted many NIH (National Institutes of Health) clinical trials and has published numerous scientific papers and book chapters.
From 2000 to 2015, Dr. Hsiang served as an Associate Professor of Health Sciences in the Division of Surgical Oncology at UC Irvine. For the past decade, he has practiced at Kaiser Permanente in Honolulu, Hawai‘i, where he has been a key member of their multidisciplinary cancer care team.
In 2025, Dr. Hsiang returned to California to be closer to family and joined the CBCC Breast Health Center to continue his career in surgical oncology. He brings not only deep clinical expertise, but also a commitment to patient-centered care and team/community collaboration.
Dr. Hsiang is a proud world traveler, husband, and father to his two children. When he is not at the clinic, you can find him spending time with family and enjoying the outdoors through activities such as hiking, camping, beach time, or playing sports – particularly golf.
