Ultrasound Prep

  • Dress comfortably
    o No metal
    o No underwire bras
    o No belt buckles, zippers, etc.
    o Remove all jewelry and piercings
  • Notify your provider or the technologist if you are, or think you might be pregnant

ABDOMEN

  • Nothing to eat or drink for 6 hours prior to the exam. 
  • You may have a sip of water to take any necessary medications.

PELVIS, BLADDER, KIDNEY, PROSTATE

  • Drink 32 ounces of water one hour prior to the appointment and do not urinate!
