Dr. Ajay Desai is a board-certified radiation oncologist and a member of numerous medical societies, including the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, and the American College of Radiation Oncology. Dr. Desai has served our community since 1999 as the medical director of the radiation oncology department at Comprehensive Blood & Cancer Center.
Dr. Desai previously served as chief resident at the State University of New York at Brooklyn after graduating from the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston. He interned at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in South Carolina and has extensive experience in private practice, having served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Department of Radiation Oncology, State University of New York.
Along with the CBCC team, Dr. Desai has assisted in pioneering the way for radiation therapy. Our cancer clinic was the first in Kern County to provide Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), the Prostate Seed Implant Program, and Mammosite Brachytherapy Treatment.
