Our Cosmetic Treatments
Aging, sunlight and skin conditions such as acne or rosacea can all lead to changes in the appearance of the skin’s upper layers. Chemical peels improve skin tone and pigmentation by removing the damaged outer layers of the skin. As the surface heals, a thicker and healthier outer skin layer (epidermis) develops, and new collagen (skin protein) forms in the deeper skin layers (dermis). The skin takes on younger characteristics, including improved texture and tone, decreased facial wrinkles, and more uniform pigmentation.
Your cosmetic dermatologist will evaluate your skin type and discuss the results you are looking for to determine if you are a candidate, as well as which type of peel is most appropriate for you.
Most people notice the first signs of aging as they’re heading into their 40s. While flatter cheeks, sagging skin, a duller complexion, and the appearance of fine lines may all be part of normal facial aging, cosmetic fillers can help you turn back the hands of time with a safe, effective, non-surgical procedure.
Our cosmetic dermatologists offer a wide range of cosmetic fillers to restore lost tissue volume and recreate a youthful, natural appearance. Cosmetic fillers can be used to:
- Subtly flesh out your cheeks
- Reduce the appearance of wrinkles around your eyes, brow, mouth, and nose
- Change the contour of your jawline
- Subtly enhance thinning lips
- Diminish the appearance of minor depressions and scars
Pregnancy, prolonged standing, and genetics are the primary causes of unsightly and often painful varicose and spider veins. As we age, new visible leg veins frequently emerge and our existing ones become increasingly noticeable. Spider veins most commonly show up on the legs but can also appear on the face; Sclerotherapy offers a safe, effective treatment for them.
During the treatment, a sclerosing agent is injected into the vein through a tiny needle. Upon injection, the solution replaces the blood in the vein, generating irritation and corrosion to the walls of the vessel. The body then initiates the natural healing process and the vein decomposes, shrinks and eventually disappears. Depending on your individual condition, you may need a series of treatments.
Laser Skin Resurfacing
Aging, sunlight, and skin conditions can lead to brown spots and roughness in the upper layers of the skin. Laser skin resurfacing uses a specific laser to remove the top layers of the skin. The healthy underlying layers replace the damaged ones and reveal a more youthful, natural skin tone and texture.
