CBCC has a medical social worker on staff to provide support, resources, and education to patients who experience social problems resulting from a medical condition. Our medical social worker may be able to help you with:
- Crisis management and assistance
- Referring individuals to social resources that may assist in resolving social needs (Example: referral to free food resources)
- Differentiating “normal” distress from mental illness and providing education on these topics
- Supporting individual’s adjustment to living with a medical illness through
- education
- exploring the physical impact and psychological impact on a person’s well-being
- enhancing coping strategies
- Supporting individuals with terminal diagnosis
- Supporting staff with patient related concerns
